As Superintendent of the Hart County Schools, I welcome you to our new 2014-15 school year.  There is excitement in the air in each of our schools, and we are looking forward to the new challenges as we ensure that every student becomes College and Career Ready.  As I enter my thirteenth year as your Superintendent, I appreciate this opportunity in helping create the future for Hart County.

Of our six schools, four are proficient or distinguished.  In the fall of 2013, only 30% of the schools in the state were rated as proficient and/or distinguished, and we are proud of what our students and staff have done to make our schools successful.  Cub Run Elementary is a Distinguished Elementary School and a School of Distinction for Middle Schools.  LeGrande Elementary is a Proficient Elementary School and a Proficient Middle School.  Munfordville Elementary is a Proficient Elementary School and a Proficient Middle School.  Hart County High School is a Proficient High School.

We are continuing our laptop program at Hart County High School, providing our students with the latest in technology, the HP 215 notebook.  We are one of only eight high schools in Kentucky that provide laptops for each student.  We know this initiative has helped students reach their goals and will continue to help with instruction and student progress.

Our district was pleased to have three of our students accepted into the number one ranked high school in the nation, the Gatton Academy of WKU.  Brigid Walters of Bonnieville Elementary and HCHS, Dustin Avery of Memorial Elementary and HCHS, along with Alex Senig of Munfordville Elementary and HCHS have all enrolled to begin their college career during their junior year of high school.

We are working daily to monitor the progress of our schools and students as we implement the Common Core Standards given to us by the Kentucky Department of Education.  We know the expectations that our teachers and students face, and we will assist in giving each student and teacher the tools to be successful.

We ask that you browse our website, from the district level to the individual school sites, to learn more about our Hart County Schools, as we work to create the future together….one student at a time.
