504/ADA

What is Section 504?

Section 504 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against students with disabilities.  It ensures that students with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities receive accommodations and services to access their education.  A 504 Plan is designed to provide those accommodations, allowing the student to learn alongside their peers in a general education setting.

This part of our site is a resource for understanding what Section 504 is, how it works, and how it creates an inclusive learning environment for all our students.  You’ll find our district’s Section 504 Procedures, a Parent and Educator Resource Guide, and the Forms that our district uses.  Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or need assistance.  I look forward to working together to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed.
