Bonnieville Elementary was honored to welcome Steve Jewell Jr. of Black Stone Cherry to our after-school Rock Band practice yesterday, March 16!
Steve presented a generous donation to our Rock Band program through his band’s nonprofit, All I’m Dreamin’ Of Foundation, which was created to support music and the arts in our community. In addition to presenting the check, Steve spent time talking with students, signing autographs, and encouraging our young musicians as they practiced. It was an experience our students won’t soon forget!
Steve, a Hart County alumnus, shared how his time in marching band and concert band helped shape his music career. While a rock band program didn’t exist when he was in school, he hopes opportunities like the one at Bonnieville will inspire students across Hart County to discover the same joy and positive outlet through music that he did.
We are incredibly grateful to Steve Jewell Jr. and the All I’m Dreamin’ Of Foundation for investing in our students and helping our program grow.
We would also like to thank Top Shelf Productions for the time and expertise they have shared with our students this year, helping them build skills and confidence as musicians.
Finally, a special thank you to our music teacher, Shelly Rogers, whose passion and dedication continue to make the Bonnieville Elementary Rock Band program such an incredible opportunity for our students.
